Terms of service.
1. Agreement
By creating an account or using Handover ("the Service"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. "We", "us", and "our" refer to Alexandara, a digital product studio based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
2. The Service
Handover is a voice-first shift documentation tool for NDIS support workers. It helps you record voice notes about your shifts and generates structured progress notes (SOAP, DAP, or Narrative format) using AI. The Service also imports shifts from connected calendars (Google, Outlook, iCal) and provides tools for managing participant context, incident reporting, and note history.
Handover is a documentation aid. It does not provide medical, clinical, legal, or financial advice. The generated notes are drafts for your review. You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of any notes you submit to your employer, clients, or the NDIS.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of Australia to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.
4. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your password or allow others to access your account. Notify us immediately at handover@alexandara.com.au if you suspect unauthorised access.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, are used fraudulently, or are inactive for more than 12 months with no active subscription.
5. Subscription and billing
- Free trial — 14 days from account creation. Full access to all features. No payment required to start.
- Monthly plan — A$12 per month, billed monthly.
- Yearly plan — A$99 per year, billed annually.
Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from Settings in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until then.
Prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable.
6. Refunds
We offer a 30-day refund from the date of your first payment, no questions asked. After 30 days, refunds are at our discretion. To request a refund, email handover@alexandara.com.au.
7. Your data
You own the content you create in Handover (transcripts, notes, participant records). We do not claim ownership of your content. Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
You can export all your data at any time via Settings. You can delete your account at any time, subject to a 7-day soft-delete window.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Use the Service to store content unrelated to shift documentation (the Service is not a general-purpose storage tool).
- Abuse the AI rewrite feature by submitting content designed to extract harmful, illegal, or discriminatory outputs.
- Share or resell access to the Service.
9. AI-generated content
The structured notes generated by Handover are produced by an AI model based on your voice transcript and participant context. AI output may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You must review every generated note before using it in a professional context. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated content that you choose to submit to third parties.
10. Service availability
We aim to keep Handover available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance, infrastructure issues, or third-party outages (authentication providers, AI providers, hosting) may cause temporary downtime. We will communicate known outages via the app's notification system where possible.
11. Intellectual property
The Handover name, logo, design, and codebase are the intellectual property of Alexandara. You may not use our branding, trademarks, or design elements without written permission.
You retain ownership of your content. By using the Service, you grant us a limited licence to process your content solely to provide the Service (e.g., sending transcripts to the AI provider for rewriting, syncing calendar data to create shift entries).
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Australian Consumer Law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Alexandara against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these terms.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.
