Unexplained injury detected

This handover mentions a bruise on Marcus's arm. This likely requires separate incident reporting under NDIS Practice Standards. Complete your provider's incident form before submitting.

What to do next
▸ SOAP FORMAT
Subjective
Marcus stated "it was really fun" in reference to the library visit. Marcus was unable to explain the origin of a bruise observed on his upper arm at the start of the shift.
Objective
Supported Marcus on a 4-hour community access shift from 14:00 to 18:00. Marcus selected a puzzle independently and remained engaged for approximately one hour, completing half. Returned home via a coffee stop. A bruise of unknown origin was observed on Marcus's upper arm at shift start.
Assessment
Marcus engaged positively with community access and demonstrated independent choice-making. Unexplained injury requires follow-up per incident reporting policy.
Plan
Continue community access supports. Incident report to be filed separately. Flag bruise observation for handover.

03 · THE CALENDAR LAYER

Works with every employer app.

Support workers juggle 2–4 employers at once. Hireup. ShiftCare. Mable. Direct clients. Handover doesn't replace any of them. It reads your personal calendar, where every shift ends up anyway, and adds the handover layer on top.

01 / THE REALITY

Four apps. One calendar.

Support workers funnel every shift, from every employer, into their personal Apple or Google Calendar. That's the one place they actually look.

02 / THE READ

Read-only. Permission-based.

Handover requests read-only access to your calendar on first launch. We never edit or create events there. Your employer's app stays untouched.

03 / THE SURFACE

Shifts appear as handovers.

Your shifts show up in Handover as a to-do list. Tap one. Record the handover. Copy it into your employer's required system. Done.

04 / THE MANUAL

Calendar optional.

Don't want to connect your calendar? Tap "New handover" and start from scratch. Handover works either way. Calendar just makes it faster.

📅
APPLE  ·  GOOGLE

Hireup. ShiftCare. Mable. Kynd. Vertex360. Brevity.

Handover doesn't care which one (or how many) you work for. If the shift is in your calendar, it's in Handover.

04 · THE STUDIO

Handover is one of four.

Alexandara is a small Australian studio building the tools we wished existed. Each product is named for what it does, not what it sells. One studio. One design language. Four verbs.
01 / PHILOSOPHY

Named for the verb

Handover hands over. Ledger records. Practice practices. Community connects. Each product is named for the action the user wants to do, not for its category.

02 / CRAFT

Shared design system

Fraunces + Inter Tight. Ink, cream, gold. Every product looks like a sibling: same parents, different personalities, recognisably family.

03 / SHAPE

Single-file PWAs

No app store. No download. Install to home screen, works offline, updates instantly. Every product ships as a PWA: small, fast, owned by you.

04 / ORIGIN

Built by family

Alexandara is a small family studio based in Brisbane. Every product is made with the people we love.

06 · HONEST ANSWERS

Things workers ask.

Will my employer see what I've written?

No. Handover is your tool. Your employer has no admin access, no dashboard, no visibility. The note only leaves Handover when you copy it and paste it into your employer's system yourself. Transcripts (the raw voice) stay until you delete them, and your employer never sees those at all.

Is this an "AI-powered" tool?

An AI does the rewrite. The value of Handover is the workflow: calendar to voice to note to clipboard, in under two minutes. We're not selling AI. We're using it where it makes sense. Your transcript is processed by a third-party AI model and isn't used to train anything.

What if I work for one employer? Or four?

Either is fine. Tag shifts by employer if you want, or don't. The product doesn't care. It's not selling itself to your employer; it's selling itself to you.

Will it flag reportable incidents?

It'll add a small reminder at the bottom of your note if you mentioned something that might need an incident report: a bruise, a fall, a behaviour, a medication issue. The reminder points you at your provider's incident-reporting policy. We don't classify incidents; that's your provider's job. We just nudge you not to forget.

What about the Privacy Act?

Australian-hosted (AWS Sydney for the database, Sydney bucket for any pinned audio), TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest. Designed against the Australian Privacy Principles. We never store participant surnames, NDIS numbers, addresses, or photos. First names only, your choice.

What if I leave the sector?

Export everything anytime: notes as PDF, transcripts as text, shifts as CSV, participant context as JSON. Then delete your account. Soft-delete window is 7 days in case you change your mind, then it's gone for good.

Who's behind this?

Alexandara is a small Brisbane studio. We build tools we wished existed, mostly for people doing real work in undersupported corners of healthcare, NDIS, and Australian engineering. Handover for support workers (this), Ledger for self-managed NDIS families (soon), Practice for sole-trader allied health (soon), Community for participant connection (soon), and a quiet stream of engineering compliance tools for the trades that need them. Same design language across the family. No VC, no growth metrics, no exit strategy. Just useful software.

05 · DESIGN

Why it looks this way.

Every NDIS tool on the market looks like 2015 enterprise software: clinical blue, dense tables, dashboards built for desktop. Handover is designed for a tired hand on a dim train platform at 9pm. Premium personal, not enterprise.

01 / NAMING

Native language

"Handover" is the word every support worker in Australia says daily. Naming the product after the thing is like Airbnb naming itself Room, except no one had taken it.

02 / TYPE

Fraunces & Inter

Fraunces for display: a warm, expressive serif with optical sizing. Inter Tight for body. JetBrains Mono reserved for times, counts, and metadata only.

03 / PALETTE

Ink, cream, gold

Ink black, warm cream, a single gold accent. Sage for neutral, rust for warmth. Red reserved exclusively for urgent flags, so it means something when it appears.

04 / SURFACE

Warm off-white

Cream background instead of clinical white. Soft shadows on cards. Dashed gold borders mark pending action. Nothing glossy, nothing skeuomorphic.

05 / THUMB ZONE

One-handed use

Primary actions in the bottom third. Minimum 44pt tap targets. Bottom nav floats above a blur layer, reachable while walking, driving, holding a coffee.

06 / COGNITIVE LOAD

One action per screen

Capture → review → copy. Never three taps where one will do. No settings before the first handover. The worker finishes the flow before they finish their coffee.

07 / TRUST

No black box

Live transcript during voice capture. Goal-link confidence stated plainly. Urgent flags state what to do, not just that something's wrong.

08 / SHAPE

PWA, always

Installs to home screen. Writes handovers offline. Syncs and rewrites when signal returns. Works in homes, dead zones, car parks, group homes.

Stop writing notes in your phone's Notes app.

Fourteen days free. Cancel anytime before day 15 and you'll never be charged.
